Parallel Lines
Ricky Allman and Jason Manley
These two artists share common ground relating both to the visual aspects of their work and to an underlying premise that informs the content. They both allow a free-ranging interaction and dispersion of related ideas in a somewhat organic and flowing relationship to each other, set within the guidelines of architectural structures.
Landscapes of real and imaginary spaces allow them to strike up a dialogue with possibilities, with mythical journeys, with dystopian and utopian positions. People-less these works are nonetheless concerned with a very human location within the world. These are constructed worlds that address our way of building and moving around within them, both conceptually and physically. |

L.A. Story - Work in Progress
Michael Klöpfer situates his practice with a directed attention towards the possibilities of the Romantic lurking or full blown in sites where nature and human construction vie for respect or at least acceptance. The vast history of the Sublime and Nature in landscape, with both painting and photography, has fed Klopfer’s project. He is looking for archetypes, for icons, for landscapes as idea rather than place.
